UK food law means a few extra steps compared to other platforms — but they protect you and your customers. We make each one as easy as possible.

Tell us who is applying and acknowledge that an application is not approval. Your private application explains the identity and other evidence needed before submission.
2.Register your food business15 min
UK law requires anyone selling food from home to register with their local council. It's free and takes 15 minutes online — we'll show you exactly how.
3.Food safety training2–3 hrs
Record the food-safety training route that applies to you. We will review any certificate evidence separately.
4.Kitchen standards10 min
Confirm your kitchen meets basic hygiene standards with a short self-assessment checklist and photos.
5.Public & product liability insurance10 min
Record the insurance position that applies to your planned food business. Cover is reviewed before any later trading decision.
6.Set up your storefront15 min
Draft your cook profile, a sample menu and intended service area. Drafts are not published as live listings.

Common questions
How much does it cost to join?+
There is no charge to create a founding-cook application. Some external legal, training, registration or insurance requirements may have their own costs; we will not claim an exact amount until the applicable route is confirmed.
How long does onboarding take?+
The active setup work and the legal/review waiting time are separate. Food businesses must register with their local authority at least 28 days before trading, and approval timing depends on complete, reviewable evidence.
Do I need to be registered before I sign up?+
No. The initial application starts with basic account details. A later trading decision is separate, and completing application steps does not switch on orders.
Is this legal in the UK?+
UK home food businesses can trade when the applicable registration, food-safety and other legal requirements are met. SupperMarket explains its application requirements but does not grant permission to trade.
